Calendars have more structure hiding in them than "month, day, year" — quarters, seasons, zodiac boundaries, and century numbering all follow their own fixed rules.
Calendar quarter: which three-month block a date falls in
July 21 falls in Q3 (July-September), one of four evenly split three-month blocks. Not every organization's Q1-Q4 aligns with the calendar year, though — many companies run a fiscal year that starts in a different month, shifting their internal quarter labels relative to the calendar.
Zodiac sign: birth date to tropical sign

Century = ceiling(year / 100). Since centuries are conventionally numbered starting from year 1 (the 1st century ran from year 1-100), the 21st century runs from 2001-2100 — which is why 2026, despite starting with "20," falls in the 21st century, not the 20th.
Days in month: accounting for leap years
February has 28 days in most years but 29 in a leap year — a rule based on the standard leap year formula (divisible by 4, except centuries not divisible by 400). Every other month has a fixed day count that never changes.
